Dave Meltzer Comments On Will Ospreay Going To WWE

Will Ospreay Won't Sign With WWE Full Time

Dave Meltzer believes that Will Ospreay won’t sign with the WWE on a full-time contract.

Will Ospreay, the IWGP United States Champion, has a contract with New Japan Pro-Wrestling that expires in February. According to Dave Meltzer, speaking on the McGuire on Wrestling podcast, Ospreay has two options, realistically.

He wants to live in England, so the deal is that for him to go to WWE, it would not be full-time. He still could fly in and stuff, but the best thing would be for WWE to get that Europe thing going and make him the star of the whole thing.

Meltzer thinks that AEW will be the best option for the British star, but he understands that Ospreay has yet to make a decision on his future.

AEW’s going to offer him a good deal. I think it’s AEW or WWE. I just don’t see New Japan being able to afford him at this point. I’m relatively certain he hasn’t made up his mind,

What Has Will Ospreay Been Doing Recently?

Will Ospreay has been appearing at NJPW events and on AEW programming lately, most recently he wrestled in a six-man tag match at WrestleDream where he teamed with fellow members of The Don Callis Family Konosuke Takeshita and Sammy Guevara against the team of Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi.

It has also been announced Ospreay will be returning to IMPACT Wrestling for its Bound for Glory event on October 21st and following this Ospreay will be joining IMPACT on its UK tour for a stop in Newcastle on October 27th. Ahead of a future title defence, Will Ospreay has revealed the respect he has for a wrestling veteran.
