During what had already been a whirlwind year for professional wrestling, the events of the AEW All Out media scrum once again sent the business on a rollercoaster. With numerous personnel left suspended – some of whom still are – Tony Khan has narrowly managed to avoid the majority of questions surrounding the clear issues.
Updates have been few and far between, given the severity of the situation, but Dave Meltzer appears to have provided an indication as to when the situation will finally be resolved. Speaking on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer stated that the situation feels like it’s now “wrapping up”:
“I mean, I think that this thing feels like it’s wrapping up. It feels like The Young Bucks, [Kenny] Omega [are] coming back somewhat soon. I mean, that’s not official or anything like that. It was just that feeling, you know, there’s been teasers and stuff so then we’ll see how that all goes.”
The teasers alluded to by Dave Meltzer include the sale of Canadian-branded Elite merchandise during AEW‘s recent debut in the country, although it’s possible this was created well in advance of the issues coming to light.
Backstage Tension Within AEW Is Neverending
The issues between CM Punk, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and everyone else involved wasn’t a first-of-its-kind situation for All Elite Wrestling. Previously, Eddie Kingston and Sammy Guevara had beef that wasn’t resolved until the week of All Out. This also included a suspension, with Kingston serving time away from the Tony Khan-helmed promotion.
More recently, Guevara has taken issue with Andrade El Idolo, which, again, resulted in someone being sent home. Andrade was forced to leave the site of that week’s AEW Dynamite while Guevara headlined alongside Chris Jericho, with El Idolo also being removed from his scheduled Rampage match vs. Pres10 Vance.
Now, it’s being reported by PWTorch’s Wade Keller that the previously reported heat between Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa hasn’t been solved, amidst reports that some non-AEW talents who happen to be friends with Rosa haven’t been booked since she went down with an injury at the end of August.
