Since Triple H became WWE’s Chief Content Officer in the summer of 2022, his fingerprints have been seen in every aspect of the creative direction of the company.
This has ranged from bringing back stars who were released under Vince McMahon, to giving stars more freedom on the microphone and elevating mid-card titles by promoting their histories. All of this has been met with a positive reaction from fans and critics alike.
One former star has added to the plaudits, saying he thinks The Game is the best thing for the company.
Dave Bautista thinks Triple H is “The best thing for WWE”
During an interview with ComicBook.com, Dave Bautista gave the Hall of Famer his vote of confidence, explaining that his love and knowledge of wrestling is best for business.
“I think this is the best thing for the company. It really is. It’s a personal thing with me because I know Triple H. I know how well he knows this business. I know how much he loves this business.
“As far as this business goes, he’s the smartest guy I’ve ever met in my life. He made me who I was. He was responsible for my career. I’ve never been ashamed to say that.
“I think that he is so dedicated to this product and just wants the best for it. I think he’s absolutely the right person. I’ve never met anyone else who thinks the way he does, as far as wrestling goes.”
Triple H was a huge part of Bautista’s wrestling career with the pair first being allies in the influential Evolution stable before going on to have a heated rivalry over the World Heavyweight Championship in 2005.
After briefly reuniting Evolution to take on The Shield in 2014, Bautista came back for one more match at WrestleMania 35, demanding that The King of Kings face him one more time. The pair met in a brutal No Holds Barred match which only came to an end after Triple H hit two Pedigrees and took a sledgehammer to The Animal to finally get the pinfall.
Since then, Bautista has confirmed that the bout was his last and he has hung up his boots for good.
