The dates for WWE Money In The Bank and WWE Backlash have reportedly been revealed.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Money In The Bank will take place on Sunday May 16th. While Backlash will follow a month later on June 20th.

Both shows will be available as usual on the WWE Network and on Peacock.

At time of writing Money In The Bank will be WWE’s first pay-per-view post WrestleMania.

The Money In The Bank Ladder Match concept first appeared at WrestleMania 21 in 2005. The match which was quickly became a WrestleMania staple moved to being a standalone PPV in 2010.

The first Women’s Money In the Bank match took place in 2017.

The match itself is a multi-person Ladder Match where a briefcase is hung high above the ring. The match is won when one of the contestants climbs a ladder and retrieves the briefcase. This entitles the winner to a World Title match at any time during the next 12 months.

In 2020 the event was held at WWE’s Titan Towers headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. The Men’s Ladder Match was won by Otis, while the Women’s edition of the match was won by Asuka.

The Miz would win the Money In The Bank briefcase from Otis at WWE Hell In A Cell before winning the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber.

On the women’s side, the night after the Money In The Bank PPV, Becky Lynch came to the ring with the briefcase. Lynch who was the RAW Women’s Champion, announced that she was pregnant and would be taking a break from WWE. She explained that as a result she would be vacating her title, and in winning the Money In The Bank Ladder Match, Asuka had in fact won the RAW Women’s Championship.

WWE Backlash debuted in 1999, before going on hiatus. The event returned in 2016, and has been held annually ever since.
