Dates For WWE Draft Reportedly Confirmed

WWE Draft

A new report has appeared to confirm the dates for the upcoming WWE Draft.

It had originally be suggested that the WWE Draft would be taking place in early September, before those dates were revised to a month later.

Andrew Zarian of The Mat Men Podcast, has now appeared to confirm that the draft will take place on October 1st and October 4th.

The WWE Draft sees talent moved between RAW and SmackDown respectively, while Superstars from NXT are often brought to the “main roster” as part of the move. Over the past two years, the draft has taken place in October – with 2019 also seeing a Superstar Shake-Up in April.

Zarian added that the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will begin on October 8th on the season premiere of SmackDown.

It was initially reported back in August that the King of the Ring tournament would be returning for the first time since 2019. While plans for the first ever Queen of the Ring were reported in July.

At the time it was suggested that the finals would take place in Saudi Arabia. It has now been confirmed by Zarian that the finals will take place in the kingdom on October 21st.

The King Of The Ring tournament was originally created back in the late 1980’s. The tournament later became a special show in it’s own right in 1993, with Bret Hart triumphing in the final. The show was then broadcast annually until 2002. The tournament was revived in 2005, but took place mainly across WWE’s regular programming.

The last recognised King Of The Ring winner was Baron Corbin, who was crowned king on the September 16th 2019 episode of Monday Night RAW.

Inside The Ropes will bring you more information on the WWE Draft as and when it’s available.
