Ricochet is set to make one more appearance on WWE TV.
While it had been previously reported that Ricochet’s contract was set to expire in the summer of 2024, the former United States Champion stunned the wrestling world when news broke on June 9th that he would not be re-signing with the company and had given his notice during a period where many of the top stars signing new deals looked to be inevitable. The day after the news broke, more information has since come to light.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider, who originally reported that the Raw star would be leaving, has provided additional details as to what to expect. It is stated that Ricochet’s final appearance on TV is set to be on the June 10th episode of Raw and is not scheduled to make any more appearances. In regards to his contract status, the former Intercontinental Champion is still expected to make his exit unless he is made “an offer he can’t refuse by the company.
Ricochet Ties Up Loose Ends
Prior to the update being provided regarding Ricochet’s contract, the Raw star was recently the winner of the first-ever Speed tournament and was awarded a new championship to recognise the achievement. On June 7th, the first defence of the title aired and saw the high-flyer lose the championship to Andrade. It is also being speculated that the former Speed Champion’s appearance on Raw will be used to write him off of TV indefinitely.
Unsurprisingly, the former United States Champion reportedly has significant interest from outside promotions AEW and NJPW, where the Raw star made his name before eventually signing with NXT in 2018.
