Date Set For Cody Rhodes’ Potential WWE Return

Cody Rhodes WWE

Cody Rhodes has been absent from WWE television since WrestleMania 41.

Last month, John Cena defeated Rhodes to win his 17th World Championship at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. While Cena has been actively present on television and engaged in a feud against Randy Orton, The American Nightmare has been absent from live appearances.

As speculations continue about Rhodes’ return, a recent update has emerged on it. With Cena and Orton set to clash against each other on May 10th at the Backlash PLE, Cody Rhodes has been advertised to appear on the May 16 episode of SmackDown, which is set to take place at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Rhodes has been advertised as one of the featured stars for the show alongside Orton, Tiffany Stratton, LA Knight, and many more. Although an advertisement does not guarantee an appearance, and fans need to be aware of that.

WWE Veteran Matt Hardy Gets Critical Of The WrestleMania 41 Match Between Cody Rhodes And John Cena

Criticising the end of the main-event match on his podcast, The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt Hardy said,

“The match, when I watched it back, especially the match they had between one another. You had Cody kick out of multiple [Attitude Adjustments], right? He escaped the STFU a couple of times. I thought, especially for what I expected for John, John being older, I still thought he had a real solid match for a main event when it was all said and done. The biggest critique I have was that finish and protecting Cody and the way it was done. I would have loved to seen Rock there, I felt like The Rock being there would have made sense, it would have kind of tied everything together that was part of the story.”

In other news: A WWE Attitude Era star is still open for an in-ring return.
