As the Sasha Banks saga rumbles on, another report has been issued giving details on when the star was supposedly released by WWE and who let her go.
Sasha Banks has been absent from WWE since she and Naomi walked out of an episode of WWE Raw, reportedly handing their Tag Team Championship belts to John Laurinaitis. Since then, there has been considerable uncertainty concerning the status of the 6-time Women’s Champion.
On June 16th, Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc. reported that The Boss was released from her WWE contract, while later updates suggested that Banks had a legal team working on her behalf to ensure her release.
WrestleVotes then weighed in on the situation, reporting that the word from SmackDown in Minneapolis was that the initial report of Banks being released was true.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider then seemingly scotched that rumour with a report stating that both Naomi and Sasha Banks are still listed on the active WWE roster within the company. That report emphatically stated that neither Sasha Banks nor Naomi have been officially released by WWE.
However, the latest twist has come courtesy of Raj Giri who originally reported on the release. Giri took to social media to give the information he knows as to when Sasha Banks was released and who in the company let her go:
“Here’s what I know about Sasha Banks. She was released on June 10th and it came from Erika Schreiber, VP of Business and Legal Affairs for Talent Relations. As for why WWE has not said anything or removed her, the rumor is that leadership is trying to smooth things over”

Until WWE or Sasha Banks confirm the status of The Boss, there will surely remain a great deal of uncertainty as to her future in the wrestling business.
