Darren Young Details Randy Orton’s Support After Coming Out As Gay

Former WWE Superstar Darren Young, also known as Fred Rosser, has opened up about the support he received from Randy Orton after publicly coming out as gay.

Speaking with Nick Hausman of Wrestling Inc, Rosser has opened up about how Orton gave him a hug and promised to have his back the day after Rosser made the revelation.

“Once I came out publicly to the world in 2013, I never said two words to a lot of the main guys, but once I came out, he was one of the guys that passed me in the hallway the day after I came out, and he gave me a hug. He said, ‘Hey man, if you have any issue, you let me know, and I’ll take care of anyone in the locker room.’ Him and CM Punk were top guys that said those exact words and Randy, from then on, was my heart.”

Rosser went on to discuss how The Viper is a “cool dude” and always up for taking photos with him backstage and giving him all the time in the world.

“Any time I visit backstage with WWE, I see him passing. I was like, ‘Hey Randy, you mind if I get a money shot doing the Block The Hate?’ And he was so into it. There were no cameras around, and he was like, ‘Yeah, man, let’s get it right.’ And then we finally took the picture, and I tweeted it. He messaged me saying, ‘Oh man, you’re making me blush.’ Randy is a cool dude.”

Rosser went on to reveal that Orton ‘liked’ a post he had shared on social media recently revealing his NJPW aspirations after admitting he’d been rejected by AEW twice, before noting how the 14-time WWE Champion has matured throughout his time in WWE.

“One, he’s older. He’s got a beautiful family, but also, he’s not a punk. I’m very passive aggressive. If you back me up against the wall, I’m going to come at you. Randy, if you say the wrong thing to him, if you’re disrespectful, just plain disrespectful to him, he’s going to let you have it. Right off the bat, there’s going to be no hesitation, and I don’t think that’ll change at all, but Randy, again, he’s older.”

Rosser concluded that his friendship with Randy Orton may very well be down to The Viper’s wife Kim!

“He’s got a beautiful family but don’t disrespect him. That’s for sure. Don’t disrespect him. His wife Kim messaged me on one of my posts on Instagram saying great job. So that meant the world to me, and it’s funny because I always feel like Randy’s wife probably loves the gays. She’s probably on her phone and saying, ‘oh, look at what Fred or Darren is doing,’ and Randy will see. ‘Oh man, that’s pretty cool.’ His wife loves me. His whole family loves me. That’s the kind of personality I have.”

Meanwhile, recently, Eric Bischoff spoke to the genius of Randy Orton being the most legitimate character in WWE due to the believability The Viper brings to his role.
