The subjects featured on upcoming season three episodes of ViceTV’s popular Dark Side of the Ring series have been revealed.
Mike Johnson from PWInsider is reporting that interviews have already been shot with Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts, former WWF Women’s Champion Rockin’ Robin and former WWF star Sam Houston for an episode on their father, the late Grizzly Smith.
Roberts in the past has been outspoken about Smith, claiming in the documentary Beyond The Mat that he was conceived when Smith raped the 13 year old daughter of the woman he was dating and citing the emotional turmoil of that knowledge as a catalyst for the substance abuse problems he has battled for much of his life.
Roberts’ sister Rockin’ Robin (Robin Denise Smith) has also accused Smith of abuse, claiming in the documentary Old School with Rockin’ Robin that she was sexually abused by her father from a young age.
The content of the other two shows was leaked by Eric Bischoff on his 83 Weeks podcast, when he revealed he had been interviewed by the show makers for pieces on the late Brian Pillman and for the controversial WCW events held in North Korea.
According to reports, Dark Side of the Ring creators Evan Hunsey and Jason Eisner had been particularly keen on producing a show on the WCW-North Korea link-up for the third season, and they appear to have got their wish.
There is no release date schedule for season three of the series yet but the first two seasons of Dark Side of the Ring are available for US viewers on Hulu, and for UK viewers on Sky On Demand.
