VICE’s Dark Side of the Ring has been covering the underbelly of the wrestling world over three seasons delving into such topics such as the murder of Bruiser Brody, the life of Dynamite Kid, and the infamous Plane Ride From Hell. The most recent episode of the show aired in October of 2021, covering Vince McMahon’s steroid trial in the mid 1990’s.
While there was uncertainty about whether or not the series would be renewed after its third season, a January report from PWInsider revealed that the show was currently being filmed, and listed the following topics for the upcoming season:
- Abdullah the Butcher
- Bam Bam Bigelow
- Mike Awesome
The report also noted that Mick Foley, ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan, Terry Funk, and Jim Cornette have all been interviewed for the new DSOTR season.
Now, an Instagram post from series creator Evan Husney sheds more light on plans for the upcoming series, including the revelation that season four will premiere on May 30th on VICE TV. In addition, he noted that the following topics will be covered in addition to those already revealed:
- Chris Candido and Tammy “Sunny” Sytch

Speaking in an interview with Variety to announce the upcoming season, executive producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisener had this to say:
“We’re incredibly grateful to our viewers for giving this show the life that it has had for the past 4 years. As lifelong fans of professional wrestling, our subjects continue to inspire us. There are so many fascinating and compelling stories left to tell and it’s a privilege to share more of them in our fourth season.”
