Popular Vice TV documentary show Dark Side of the Ring – which explores some of the more controversial subjects relating to wrestling, has officially been renewed for a third season.
Although the cat was already out of the bag earlier in the week thanks to Eric Bischoff, The Wrap has today confirmed that the series will officially be making a comeback.
The great news for fans of the show is that the series will be expanding from six episodes in season one and ten episodes in season two to a massive 14 in season three.
Executive vice president and general manager of Vice Television Morgan Hertzan described Dark Side of the Ring as a “knockout show for Vice TV” and put over executive producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisener for their work on the show.

It’s no surprise to see the show renewed. Season 2 featured episodes that broke records for the station, with the episode based on Owen Hart’s tragic death topping the pile with 626,000 viewers. Or to put it another way, NXT levels, only on a much smaller channel.
“We are so excited to pin down a third season of this incredible series,” added Hertzan. “Seasons 1 and 2 of Dark Side of the Ring are examples of the compelling, thought-provoking, and engaging storytelling we champion here at Vice TV. We can’t wait to see what the series will throw down in the third round!”
Thanks to Bischoff, again, we already know that the third series of the show will feature episodes centred around Grizzly Smith, Brian Pillman and the controversial WCW events in North Korea, leaving another 11 episodes that remain a mystery.
