Darby Allin may now have an opponent for AEW WrestleDream following the events that took place at the latest Collision taping.
On the 5th anniversary special episode of Dynamite on October 2nd, the former TNT Champion appeared in a vignette following his loss to Jon Moxley at Grand Slam and losing his World Championship opportunity in the process. Looking to prove that he can still be the face of the company, Allin declared that he would hold an open challenge for WrestleDream on October 12th.
On October 3rd, the latest Collision taping took place in Toledo, Ohio, which will air on October 5th. As reported by those in attendance, Allin defeated Johnny TV before getting on the mic and demanding someone answer his open challenge. While no one immediately answered, Allin was attacked by Brody King on his way to the back, which may be the WrestleDream match that is set to be announced at the weekend. Another match confirmed for the upcoming pay-per-view will see Private Party challenge The Young Bucks for the Tag Team Championships.
Darby Allin Looks Back At Major AEW Match
Although the former Tag Team Champion has yet to win the top prize in the company, he has been a part of one of the biggest matches of the year as he teamed with Sting in The Icon’s final match. Along with the magnitude of the match itself, many remember the dangerous spot that saw Allin go crashing through a pane of glass and immediately bloodied from the impact. Speaking in a recent interview, Darby Allin admitted that the match itself could have been even more dangerous.
