Anarchy in the Arena left its mark on Darby Allin at AEW Double or Nothing.
Darby Allin has had a rough time with injuries in recent months, first breaking his foot in a match against Jay White at Big Business and then being hit by a bus in New York City in April, causing him to break his nose.
Despite these setbacks, Darby Allin made a shock return to AEW on the May 15th episode of Dynamite and declared that he would be part of Anarchy in the Arena at Double or Nothing, replacing Eddie Kingston on Team AEW as Kingston was injured.
Sure enough, Allin teamed with Bryan Danielson, Cash Wheeler, and Dax Harwood in Las Vegas on May 26th, taking on the team of The Young Bucks, Jack Perry, and Kazuchika Okada. The star wore a face mask to protect his broken nose, but the chaos of the match took its toll on the daredevil.
Not only did Allin do a coffin drop off a balcony onto one of his opponents, real life events were referenced as Jack Perry drove a vehicle to “run over” Allin backstage.
Darby Allin’s Face Bloody And Swollen Following AEW Double Or Nothing
Near the end of the match, The Young Bucks removed Allin’s protective facemask and hung him upside down above the ring, allowing the EVP’s to hit superkicks on the star with thumbtacks on their shoes. Taking to social media on May 27th, Allin posted a picture of his bloody face and swollen nose, showing clear damage from the night before. He wrote:
