Darby Allin shared a scary incident that happened with his fiancée.
Earlier this year, Darby Allin became the first pro wrestler to ever climb Mount Everest. Once he reached the summit, the daredevil wrestler planted AEW’s flag and hit Diamond Dallas Page’s iconic Diamond Cutter pose. To cap it all off, he made the moment extra special by proposing to his fiancée atop the tallest peak in the world.
Recently, the 32-year-old revealed a horrific incident that his fiancée went through, which saw her being airlifted to a hospital after being shot.
Darby Allin Shares Details About His Fiancée, Recalls Horrific Incident That Happened To Her
Allin has remained extremely private about his personal life, but on a recent episode of the Talk is Jericho Podcast, the former AEW TNT Champion revealed that he proposed to his fiancée when he climbed Everest. He shared that he had known her since high school but never dared to ask her out at the time.
He continued that years later, she dated a gang member, and one day, while they were together, they got shot— with a bullet entering her head and exiting her ear. Luckily, she survived after being airlifted to the hospital, and the incident inspired her to become an ICU nurse:
” I proposed to my girlfriend up there, too. [You on a video? Yeah. Oh, that’s great.]Yeah. I made a video because it’s funny. I met her on the school bus in high school, and I had a crush on her in high school, but I was always like too shy to ask her out, and then she started dating, you know, this like wannabe gang member guy. Long story short, he gets shot. The bullet goes through his neck and into her head. [Oh my gosh. ] And out [of] her ear. [I didn’t know that.] So I was like, ‘Oh, well, there my high school crush is dead.’ Yeah. You know, so like, but she wasn’t. Yeah. But yeah, that kind of inspired her to become an ICU nurse [because] when she was getting airlifted.
So I was like, you know, yeah. But I was like, man, this is crazy. It’s like such a full circle moment. [Fly the flag, propose to your girlfriend, diamond cutter.] Yeah. But it, yeah. And then I was just like sitting up there. I’m like taking it all in. And I was like, ‘Oh, now we have to get back down.’”
