Darby Allin has become the new AEW TNT Champion at AEW Full Gear.
Allin becomes only the third man to hold the belt, after Brodie Lee and the man he defeated tonight – Cody Rhodes. Rhodes would make history of his own in the match, being announced as “Cody Rhodes” after reclaiming his surname recently following a trademark dispute.

A barnstormer of a match would see Darby Allin pick up his first piece of silverware in All Elite Wrestling and, even more impressively, be presented the title by a kneeling Cody after the star-making performance.
The celebrations wouldn’t last too long for Allin, though, as Team Taz would interrupt, with Brian Cage and Ricky Starks ambushing both Rhodes and Allin after the match as Taz slung insults following the encounter.
Starks and Cage would tease a power struggle of sorts, with both men signalling their intent to chase the TNT Championship, before Taz took custody of the belt – allowing both men to pursue the objective of punishing Allin – who went through a stage prop, before being slammed onto the hood of the car he made his entrance in. Thankfully, Will Hobbs would save the day after Starks and Cage tried to jam Allin’s arm in the car door.
