Danny Burch Advocates NXT UK Stipulation For NXT

One half of the NXT Tag Team Champions, Danny Burch, has stated that he would love to see British Rounds Rules make an appearance on NXT television.

British Rounds Rules are an old concept in British wrestling and were used in the classic World of Sport prior to its re-launch a couple of years ago. Currently, they’re being implemented in NXT UK for brand’s Heritage Cup and have been a massive hit with audiences.

Speaking to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Danny Burch spoke about the concept coming to America and how it could be used on the black and gold brand:

“If it can be done, it would be exceptional because working within the rounds system, it makes you think completely differently while you’re in the ring. Just as you start to gain momentum, the round stops and you have to go back to your corner. So it’s one of those things where you constantly have to be on your feet and it’s a whole new, exciting dynamic that you can bring to matches. Again, it’s something that’s not been done in the states so I think it’s one of those things that would really test guys and girls, let’s see how much you can do so when you come out of that round, you can just literally jump back straight in. So I think it’d be great.”

British Rounds Rules were first used in NXT UK in 2019 when Kassius Ohno and Sid Scala ended their mini-feud under such stipulations. They have since been adapted for the NXT UK Heritage Cup to include 2-out-of-3 falls, seeing Trent Seven and A-Kid advance to the Final in two weeks time.

Danny Burch can be seen on NXT alongside tag team partner Oney Lorcan and stablemates Pete Dunne and Pat McAfee as The Kings of NXT.
