Daniel Bryan has been banished from SmackDown and is now unable to return to the blue brand after unsuccessfully challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.
On the latest edition of SmackDown, Bryan once again challenged for the Universal Championship after failing to capture the title at Elimination Chamber, Fastlane and WrestleMania. Last week, Reigns laid down the challenge on the condition that if he failed once again, he would be barred from appearing on SmackDown forever. Despite this, ‘The Leader Of The Yes Movement’ accepted.
In a brutal war that went almost half an hour, the left arm of ‘The Tribal Chief’ was the focus of the challenger. In both reducing Reigns’ power and softening up the arm for various submissions, Bryan’s strategy almost made his fourth Universal Championship challenge of the year a success but it wasn’t to be. After switching the lock of the Guillotine to his unaffected arm, Reigns managed to make Bryan pass out to retain his championship and consequently banished him from SmackDown indefinitely.

After the match, the two-time Universal Champion teased taking out the Washington-native for good with a conchairto before Cesaro attempted to make the save. ‘The Swiss Superman’ got a few good strikes in on Reigns before Jey Uso appeared and tied up him up in the ropes, allowing Reigns to hit the conchairto on Daniel Bryan right in front of a helpless Cesaro as SmackDown went off the air.
