Daniel Bryan returned to WWE Friday Night SmackDown last night for the first time since June this year and was immediately welcomed by the former ‘Monday Night Messiah’ Seth Rollins.
After Daniel Bryan orated how excited he was to be in the WWE ThunderDome, Rollins made his way to the ring only to have his ‘Greater Good’ movement berated by the returning star.
Not taking the barb lying down, Rollins began a brawl with Bryan but came out on the wrong end when the former WWE Champion connected with vicious yes kicks and led the WWE ThunderDome audience in a chorus of ‘yes’ chants as his attacker retreated to higher ground.
However, Friday wasn’t Seth Rollins’ night. His retreat was halted by the official Friday Night SmackDown debut of Rey and Dominik Mysterio before he was set upon by former disciple, Murphy, whose handshake was rejected by Rey.
Seth Rollins now looks to have his hands full with a prominent rivalry on the cards with Daniel Bryan, the continuation of his bad blood with the Mysterio family and being the prime target of Murphy after he turned on his disciple several weeks ago.
Along with Murphy and Rey and Dominik Mysterio, Seth Rollins was drafted to the blue brand in the recent 2020 WWE Draft.
Daniel Bryan has been absent from WWE television due both the COVID-19 pandemic and the birth of his second child with Brie Bella, who was shown as part of the ThunderDome audience. The last time he did battle inside a WWE ring was on the June 12 Friday Night SmackDown when he fell to AJ Styles in a match to crown a new WWE Intercontinental Champion.
