On last night’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown, the last before WWE Hell in a Cell on October 25, Daniel Bryan and Kevin Owens united to target the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships.
A guest on the Kevin Owens Show, Daniel Bryan sat down with the host to talk about his vision for the blue brand.
After Bryan stated that he wished to see a youth movement combined with the WWE Intercontinental Championship defended each week, Owens hinted that the pair come together to target the blue brand’s doubles gold which he has never managed to capture.
Before Bryan could answer, however, the duo were interrupted by champions The Street Profits, Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler as well as Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura who brawled with the former WWE and Universal Champions.
The battle lead to an 8-Man Tag Team Match which saw Owens, Bryan and The Street Profits go to war with Ziggler, Roode, Cesaro and Nakamura with the babyfaces coming out on top after sufficient work to the leg of Daniel Bryan.
Though it’s unclear where this new unity will go, teaming with Kevin Owens is just another string to Daniel Bryan’s bow as he’s currently due to also enter a singles rivalry with Seth Rollins which was set-up on last week’s season premier of Friday Night SmackDown.
