Damian Priest looks to be a fighting champion in WWE.
Successfully cashing in his Money in the Bank contract to become the new World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania, Priest finally seized his moment and did not become one of the unlucky few who found their cash-in ultimately amounted to nothing. However, although Priest has not gotten to the top of the men’s division on Raw, the bigger challenge is staying there.
Appearing on the Rob Brown Show, Priest explained what he wanted to achieve while holding the title and stated that he wanted to rival the work rate of the man who first held the gold, Seth Rollins:
“I want to be the type of champion that Seth Rollins was, a workhorse. I want to defend the title. I want to take on everyone and anyone at any point. When it comes to the roster, I want a piece of everybody. I want a piece of everybody. It’s usually the opposite,”
Following Priest’s successful defence of the title at Backlash, The Judgment Day member has also been true to his word as he granted Drew McIntyre a title shot when The Scottish Warrior has recovered from injury.
Damian Priest Reveals He Had To Fight For Major Match
Since joining The Judgment Day, Priest has been elevated further and further up the card with multiple reigns as Tag Team Champion alongside Finn Balor and winning Money in the Bank in front of a sold-out crowd in London. However, when looking back on one of the biggest matches of his career, Damian Priest admitted there were no guarantees.
In another interview, Damian Priest looked back on one of the wildest moments of his career.
