Is Damian Priest slowly turning into the shadow of his former self?
The September 5th SmackDown episode in Chicago is currently one of the best episodes of the blue brand in a long time. Following Brock Lesnar’s interference during the kickoff match between Sami Zayn and John Cena, fans were treated to another hard-hitting bout.
In the second match of the night, fans witnessed Damian Priest take on Aleister Black. However, despite their matching quality of talent, Priest struggled to put forward a fight against Black in the entire match.
Throughout their battle, fans saw Aleister Black control the momentum and the flow of the fight. Giving very few openings for Priest to capitalize, Black had the bout in control. The final stages of the match saw the former AEW star use the referee as a distraction to snatch away the victory.
While Priest earned a victory over Black via disqualification last month, it was Black who scored a pinfall victory over the former World Champion.
For the past few months, Black has been in a rivalry against R-Truth; however, Black has yet to score a victory over the former US Champion.
Damian Priest Reveals Details Of His First WWE Tryout
Earlier this year, while speaking to Sam Roberts on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Priest revealed the heartbreaking details of his first WWE tryout back in 2010.
I remember my first tryout with WWE, it was, I wanna say, 2009…2010 I think it was, and I was way out of shape. I came in injured, and I bombed. It was so bad. I can look back now, and I’m like, embarrassed that I was there. I did not belong there. I wasn’t ready. Even if I was healthy and in better shape, I still wasn’t ready.”
