Damian Priest has shared the heartbreaking details surrounding his first-ever WWE tryout.
Whether he goes by the Archer of Infamy or El Campeon, there is no denying that Damian Priest is one of the top stars on WWE’s roster. The 42-year-old is one of the faces in the company and a fan favorite of the WWE Universe.
It has been around seven years since Priest became a full-fledged WWE Superstar, starting off in NXT before becoming a world champion on the main roster. However, this isn’t the first time he tried to join the Stamford-based promotion.
Speaking to Sam Roberts on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, the former World Heavyweight Champion revealed the heartbreaking details of his first WWE tryout back in 2010. He revealed that he was out of shape, injured, and all in all, just not ready. So, as expected, he “bombed.”
I remember my first tryout with WWE, it was, I wanna say, 2009…2010 I think it was, and I was way out of shape. I came in injured, and I bombed. It was so bad. I can look back now, and I’m like, embarrassed that I was there. I did not belong there. I wasn’t ready. Even if I was healthy and in better shape, I still wasn’t ready.”
Damian Priest also revealed that he was irate at the time, frustrated that the company hadn’t signed him up. However, now, looking back, it’s safe to say that things worked out for the best.
Damian Priest is open to working with Bad Bunny again

The Puerto Rican wowed the WWE Universe with his performances in the ring, particularly against Damian Priest. Recently, in an interview with TMZ Sports, Priest was asked about potentially working with Bunny again. Well, he made it clear that he would love to work with him whenever he is ready, mentally and physically.
