As part of The Judgment Day, Damian Priest can be found wreaking havoc on WWE Raw on a weekly basis. However, according to a new report, he was approached to dip his toe into the world of acting as he was asked to read for a major part in Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
According to Fightful Select, Priest was asked to read for the role of Namor, the movie’s primary antagonist, or one of the other members of the fictional underwater kingdom of Talokan. Fightful Select couldn’t confirm whether or not the read actually took place, but confirmed that an inquiry was made.
Priest didn’t end up with a role in the film, which premiered on November 11th in the United States. The part of Namor, which has heavy ties to Mayan culture, went on to be played by Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta.
Had he ended up with a part in the film, Damian Priest would be following in the footsteps of such WWE legends as Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Dave Bautista, who have both played major roles in superhero franchises. Johnson recently starred in the titular role of Black Adam, while Batista has appeared in multiple films as Drax the Destroyer, one of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
Damian Priest’s Teammate Finn Balor Will Take On AJ Styles At WWE Survivor Series
While Damian Priest isn’t scheduled to compete at WWE Survivor Series, there’s no doubt he’ll be at ringside to get involved in the scheduled bout between his Judgment Day teammate Finn Balor and The OC’s AJ Styles. The two teams have been at odds ever since Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson returned to WWE Raw on its October 10th season premiere, and after facing off in trios action at WWE Crown Jewel, AJ Styles and Finn Balor will go one on one at Survivor Series.
Styles’ OC teammate Michin (the newly-renamed Mia Yim), meanwhile, will compete inside WarGames alongside Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, Asuka, Alexa Bliss, and a mystery partner that will be revealed on SmackDown. Their team will face off against Damage CTRL members Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY as well as Nikki Cross and Rhea Ripley.
