As per Fightful Select, there is news on NXT Superstar Dakota Kai and her current status within WWE as the company heads into 2021.
Currently, WWE are touting that Kai is out of action with an injury that she supposedly suffered at NXT TakeOver: WarGames on December 6. The grievance was meant to have occurred when the New Zealand native was hit with an Eclipse from the top rope onto a steel chair.
However, according to Fightful, Kai is not dealing with an injury at all and has instead been withdrawn from the black and gold brand to clear up an issue with her visa.
As a foreign national in the United States, Kai is required to update and re-apply for a work visa every few years until she obtains American citizenship status.
The report states that there is no issue with her application and WWE expect the star to return to television either just before or on the first edition of NXT following January 1. She will also resume her role on the popular UpUpDownDown series hosted by Xavier Woods.
Prior to her absence following WarGames, Dakota Kai was locked in a rivalry with Ember Moon and had obtained several victories over the star thanks to the interference of her friend and bodyguard, Raquel Gonzalez.
