Former WWE, WCW and ECW Tag Team Champion, D-Von Dudley has revealed that Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair are to appear in a television remake of Punky Brewster.

Breaking the news on his cameo account, the former resident of Dudleyville also noted that he was currently out in Los Angeles helping to produce the reboot, splitting his time between that and duties for WWE.

The plot will see a grown-up Brewster, now a mother of three, attempting to get her life back on track when she meets a young girl who reminds her of herself. It has been announced that former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. will portray the character’s ex-husband.

The 2020 reboot will be written and executive produced by the respected Jim and Steve Armogida who penned the School of Rock television spin-off and created the beloved British sitcom, My Family, starring the legendary Robert Lyndsay. They will be joined by the show’s original creators David Duclon and Jimmy Fox.

Running between 1984 – 1986, Punky Brewster was about a young girl raised by foster parents and spawned a spin-off animated series, ‘It’s Punky Brewster’, voiced by the original actors.

D-Von Dudley has recently been in the headlines after it was reported he had been suffering from ill-health.
