“Cusp Of Death”: Logan Paul Addresses Injury Scare Following WWE Money In The Bank

Logan Paul botched an AEW star's move

Logan Paul suffers a rough aftermath following his high-flying WWE Money in the Bank moves.

In the main event of the 7th June edition of Money in the Bank PLE, Logan Paul and John Cena teamed up to face the duo of Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. However, while Cena and Paul almost snatched the victory, it was R-Truth’s shocking return that saved Rhodes and Uso from the loss.

The closing stages of the match also saw The Maverick execute a springboard moonsault onto Jey Uso through an announce table. However, it came at a serious cost to Logan Paul’s health. On the latest episode of his ImPaulsive podcast, the former United States Champion revealed suffering from hematoma on his shin following the bout.

“Dude, I’m good besides this hematoma on my shin. Yeah, it’s getting worked up… It’s before the match and I’m telling John Cena, ‘Hey, I’d like to fit this spot.’ He looks at me and he goes, ‘You can’t make that jump,’ and I go, ‘I swear to God I can,’ and dude, John’s the best. But in full sincerity, he goes, ‘You can’t make that jump,’ and I’m like, ‘Okay, buddy!’ And I found out no one — successfully? Not so much (has done the move) — but believed I could make that jump.”

“It was well-executed and I’m f*cking alive. But it was a really hard landing. Really hard… When I landed, straight up, I was not sure if I broke both my f*cking shins.”

He further shared how even R-Truth’s return was kept a secret from him.

“Dude, I go through this table. I’m cooked. Cusp of death. I’m sitting there just selling but not selling because this sh*t’s real and it all hurts so bad but I hit the move so I’m excited. I’m sitting there like basically knocked out, and Cody (Rhodes) and John (Cena) are in the ring, I’m rooting for my guy John, ‘Get us that win John!’ And dude, out of nowhere comes f*cking R-Truth who I thought was fired. I thought the WWE let him go.

Also, here’s the thing, no one told me R-Truth was coming. I didn’t even know. I didn’t even know. So bro, I’m sitting there and he comes back, I’m like, ‘What the f*ck is he doing here!?’ Yes, in the moment (I became a fan) and dude, I’m selling, I’m like, hey, then he hit John and we lost the f*cking match!”

A Former WWE Champion Has Heaped Praise On Logan Paul

Since his pro-wrestling debut in 2022, the YouTuber-cum-boxer has quickly developed himself into one of the most talented in-ring stars on the roster. A few months ago, during an episode of the WAFFLIN’ podcast, Drew McIntyre shared his thoughts on Logan Paul.

“Yeah. I mean, it’s hard to, to knock him. He’s come from a different world and made a name for himself, just like yourself, Joe. Had a dream, but sometimes we’ve had people come in who have similar thoughts and they’ve absolutely shat the bed and they couldn’t handle the pressure and they realize, Oh no, playing fighting with my buddies and my teddy bears wasn’t quite going to cut it. with somebody like Logan, he came in and every single match, he’s absolutely smashed it.

Clearly he doesn’t do his freaking research, especially with someone like Drew McIntyre, I’ve been with him for 25 years and we held the company together when everything was shutting down in the pandemic. That’s okay, Logan, I’ll batter you at some point. We get a one-on-one match, I’m going to chop you to freaking pieces. But he gets it. You can see the difference with somebody that gets and doesn’t, and it doesn’t even matter how long you do it for.

Some people just never figure it out. There’s a difference between those who do the moves well and do the matches well. Those that have it, and those that feel different, those that become superstars, and I always say it’s just in their eyes. You can tell just looking at somebody’s eyes. If they’re present, they’re in the moment, they know exactly what they’re doing, especially between the moves. From the beginning, when Logan walks out, he knows exactly who he is.

The pressure doesn’t get to him. He does the moves and stuff he does the he wants to do stunts and stuff. Good for him. That gets like a nice little viral reaction, what he’s looking for. But the stuff in between, when you see him just stand there and posture to the crowd, you can see in his eyes that’s somebody who knows who he is.

He’s in the moment, he’s present to the particular situation, whatever’s happening at that time, whatever his opponent’s giving him, whatever the crowd are giving him. He’s not thinking about the stupid words he had to memorize. He’s actively just going what feels right because he knows exactly who Logan Paul is and that’s what separates wrestlers from the superstars.”
