Major League Wrestling CEO, Court Bauer, has revealed the story of when tensions between Vince McMahon and Donald Trump became heated in the build to WrestleMania 23.

A former WWE writer, Bauer was part of the writing staff that put together the tale of Vince McMahon vs. Donald Trump which ended in both tycoons choosing one wrestler to represent them at the aforementioned WrestleMania.

However, it was what occurred in the weeks prior that got Vince McMahon hot under the collar.

Speaking to Chris Jericho on the latest edition of Talk is Jericho, Bauer told the story of the time McMahon lost his temper with Donald for wearing a padded jacket to the ring in an attempt to look bigger than the billionaire:

“Donald Trump was there doing the angle with Vince and one night they’re doing some sort of in-ring deal with Trump and Vince and it was cold, the lead up to WrestleMania and Donald Trump has like that big winter jacket and he’s like 6’4’, something like that. He’s kind of a deceptively tall guy. So you know they’re doing a promo, and Vince and him are going like face to face, the ‘Battle Of The Billionaires’ thing goes down, and afterwards we’re in the limo and Vince is just livid. Like they get along so great, there’s like that kindred spirit thing with them and everything but he felt like Donald had intentionally showed him up. He was like, ‘Did you see that? He was wearing that jacket—clearly his shoulder pads were stuffed, he was trying to look bigger than me, it’s ridiculous.’ And he was like really hot about Trump trying to look bigger than him.”

On the night of WrestleMania 23, Bobby Lashley (representing Trump) defeated Umaga (representing Vince McMahon) in a watchable ‘Battle of the Billionaires’ contest on ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All’ leading to WWE’s President getting his head shaved.

Court Bauer’s MLW returned to television on November 18 with their Restart show, which saw Jacob Fatu retain the MLW World Heavyweight Championship against Davey Boy Smith Jr.
