Jim Cornette has predicted that Bron Breakker will be a World Champion in WWE within two and a half years, comparing him to WWE legend The Rock.
Bronson Rechsteiner has enjoyed a whirlwind start to his WWE career. The son of wrestling legend Rick Steiner only signed with WWE in February, but has already challenged for the NXT Championship.
The second generation star made his in-ring debut on September 14th on the debut episode of the relaunched NXT 2.0. In the first match on the revamped show he defeated L.A Knight before entering into a feud with NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa.
His subsequent performances have caught the eye of fans and fellow Superstars, while the second generation star has also made an impact on legendary manager turned podcast Jim Cornette.
Speaking on The Jim Cornette Experience, the former promotor was full of praise for the young Superstar.
“Aside from injury, I don’t know what could keep this guy from being one of the top talents in the company in two or three years. The last person I said that about was The Rock… He’s almost bulletproof because he’s one of these people that his natural charisma is gonna’ make people react and respond to him, and the sh*t that he does, and the promos he’s doing already and the attitude he’s got.”
Later on in the conversation, Jim Cornette continued the comparison between Breakker and The Rock. The Lousiville Lip explained that he told Vince McMahon in May or June of 1996 that The Rock would be WWE Champion within three years. The Rock would of course win his first World Championship in November 1998 at Survivor Series, two years after making his debut.
