The Bloodline are the hottest act in WWE and possibly even in all of professional wrestling. But where does the group stack up against the greatest factions in history? The answer, according to Corey Graves, is right up there with the nWo.
When Roman Reigns returned to WWE at SummerSlam 2020, no one could have imagined the run that he was about to embark on. After claiming the Universal Championship and aligning with Paul Heyman, Reigns entered into a rivalry with Jey Uso. This eventually led both Jey and brother Jimmy to join Reigns and Heyman, and The Bloodline was born. In recent months Solo Sikoa has also joined the group, while Sami Zayn also gained acceptance into the faction at Survivor Series.
Corey Graves Makes Has Some Bold Words About The Bloodline
The nature of the story which has brought the group together, and kept audiences entertained has created so many possibilities for how it will eventually end. While their run of dominance and fan support has also led to comparisons with legendary groups such as the nWo. The group founded by Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash was instrumental in the success of WCW in the mid-late 1990s and remains popular to this day.
Speaking on the After The Bell podcast, Raw announcer Corey Graves said that the story around The Bloodline might even be more compelling than that of the nWo.
“These guys are going to run this place for the foreseeable future. There are so many exciting ways that this could go, and I dare say this is a more compelling situation than the nWo because of the reality behind it. When I say they are as deep as they are dangerous, I mean it with every fibre of my being.
I gush about these guys constantly, they’re my favourites on screen, but they’re also a lot of my favourites off screen. I truly believe everything that they do. But for my money right now, The Bloodline is well on its way to being as hot of an act that endures the test of time in this business second maybe only to the nWo.”
Following their victory at Survivor Series all is well with The Bloodline, but recent reports suggest that the harmony won’t last. It has been reported that Roman Reigns will put his Undisputed WWE Universal Title on the line against Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble before facing Sami Zayn a month later. This will then lead to a huge match with Dwayne Johnson at WrestleMania 39.
