Corey Graves Returns To WWE On NXT

Corey Graves

Corey Graves is back behind the announce desk in WWE.

Making his return on the January 21st edition of NXT, Graves appeared alongside Vic Joseph and Booker T in the opening minutes of the show before the first match got underway. Joseph joked that it was not AI and that fans were seeing Graves live on their screens. Graves then added that he was right where he wanted to be:

“I am right where I want to be, where passion is everything, only the hungry survive and pro wrestling never stopped being cool. Let’s light the fuse.”

Following uncertainty over the past week regarding his status, it was reported earlier in the day that Corey Graves was at the Performance Center and would be a part of the show.

The Corey Graves Controversy

Graves became the subject of controversy earlier in the month after voicing his frustrations due to being moved over to NXT as part of the latest commentary shake-up.

Shortly after the January 13th episode of Raw went off air, the announcer caught the attention of fans by expressing his issues on social media, stating that he was “not famous enough” for the job:

“Imagine chasing your dream. Then being TOLD (not deciding) that you’re no longer physically able to pursue your dream. Then you dedicate your life to something “dream adjacent” and being pretty f*cking awesome at it. And then, when it’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor, being told you’re not famous enough for your own job. Just in case you’ve wondered where I’ve been.”

After first teasing that he would speak more on the January 14th NXT, it was later reported that Graves would not be at the show as he was seen at an Orlando airport leaving the city. The social media posts have since been deleted.

It has repeatedly stated in reports that Graves’s prior comments were not part of a storyline.
