Corey Graves Compares Karrion Kross To WWE Hall Of Famer

Karrion Kross

WWE announcer and podcaster Corey Graves has compared Karrion Kross to a somewhat surprising former world champion.

Speaking on a recent episode of WWE After The Bell, Graves explained that the NXT Champion reminded him of WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg.

Graves admitted that while his comparison may sound like a stretch, he feels that Kross’ intensity, entrance and stoic focus are reminiscent of the WCW legend. When asked who Kross reminded him of Graves said that his mind went straight to Goldberg.

“This is going to sound like a stretch, Goldberg,”

“I’m going to say Goldberg, not in the same sense that made Goldberg, Goldberg but from the intensity. The physical stature sure, it’s easy to draw correlations, but that intensity, that stoic focus, the badass, incredible entrance. It’s captivating, the whole package with Scarlett, but standing on his own physically speaking very rarely goes out and has marathon classics, likes to do his work with intensity and focus in short order.”

The Monday Night RAW commentator continued, clarifying that he doesn’t think they’re the same, as Kross has such a unique presentation.

“Not saying they’re the same, I’m just saying if you’re asking me who I am reminded of, I think Karrion Kross is such a unique character and unique entity, it’s almost impossible to draw a good comparison. I’m just saying from an objective perspective, looking at your T.V. screen, maybe you haven’t watched for a while and you go, oh, this guy kind of reminds me of Goldberg.”

Graves’ co-host Vic Joseph concurred, citing how Kross tends to feature in short explosive matches. Joseph also threw a different name into the conversation, that of Brock Lesnar, for much the same reason.

“I think of Karrion Kross as someone who has a very distinct entrance,”

“I think he is someone who comes in and is not paid by the hour, he gets in and he gets out. It’s hard to argue with the Goldberg comparison. To not steal Goldberg as an answer, when I think about the entrance and the in and out, the power and impact, he hasn’t had the career that this man has, maybe one day he will but Brock Lesnar. He comes in, bell to bell, not very long, he gets in, he gets out, he gets the job done and when you hear those cords, you know it’s Brock.”

While Karrion Kross currently stands at the top of the NXT mountain, recent speculation has linked him with a call-up to the main roster. In recent weeks, Kross along with Scarlett and Bronson Reed have appeared backstage at both RAW and SmackDown. While Kross and Reed have picked up victories on WWE Main Event.

Karrion Kross is set to defend his NXT Championship on the July 13th episode of NXT against Johnny Gargano with Samoa Joe serving as the special guest referee. The announcement was made the The Great American Bash among simmering tensions between Kross and Joe.
