Cope Pens Heartfelt Message As Strange AEW Hiatus Continues

Adam Copeland Hints At Imminent Retirement

Cope pens heartfelt note as his AEW hiatus continues.

A couple of years ago, in 2023, Adam ‘Edge’ Copeland made his way into AEW after a long stint at WWE. Defeating Sheamus in his final match, the WWE Hall of Famer made his highly anticipated All Elite Wrestling debut against Luchasaurus, as he quickly became involved in a feud against Christian Cage.

After a brief stint there, Cope unfortunately injured himself, sidelining himself for almost a year. However, earlier this year, the 51-year-old made his long-awaited return and engaged in a feud against Jon Moxley’s Death Riders. After failing to capture the World title, Cope wrestled his last match on 6th April, 2025, in an unsuccessful attempt at the AEW World Trios Title. Unable to capture the title, fans witnessed FTR turn their back on Cope and send him on a hiatus.

Almost three months after his hiatus began, the former World Champion recently penned a heartfelt note, reflecting on his wrestling career, which roughly began three decades ago. Sharing a wholesome post on Instagram, he wrote,

“On Canada Day 33 yrs ago I made my wrestling debut. In Oakland Raiders Zubaz and a pair of Converse. Nowhere to go but up. Since then, I’ve travelled the world. Literally. Everywhere you can think of. From Moose Landing to Monterrey, from Bloodvein to Bucharest. It’s been a long, fruitful, soul expanding, soul diminishing, amazing, frustrating, exhausting, exhilarating journey over 3 decades. The best part?

I hear every one of you when I blast out of that entranceway and sing Metalingus at the top of your lungs. It’s never been lost on me what a privilege that is. Australia I’m lookin at you! It won’t last a lot longer so I’m gonna soak in every second. Thank you for coming along on this ride with me.”

As fans await to see their favorite star back in the ring, there are currently no confirmed updates on his in-ring return.

Adam Copeland No Longer Watches Pro-Wrestling

Earlier this year, during an appearance on First Up with Korolnek & Colaiacovo, Adam Copeland offered an honest explanation about why he does not watch pro-wrestling anymore.

“So I generally, this is gonna sound bad, but I don’t watch wrestling. Just because immediately burned out in terms of, like, I think it’s one of those deals. When you’re doing it, doing it and watching it, it can be all consuming.”

“And I told myself, and coming back this time, I wasn’t going to let it do that to me. So, you know, this time, I have a family. I have two kids and my downtime’s spent with them or watching hockey, as opposed to, you know, kind of critiquing and pulling apart the wrestling shows.”

“I get my clips from Instagram, basically. It’s always a good shot in the arm for the business, for sure.”
