WWE is no stranger to recruiting celebrities to feature on their programming, even signing YouTube star Logan Paul to a WWE contract last June.
Now, another social media influencer claims that WWE has been in contact with a huge money offer.
Lele Pons began her social media career in 2013 on the now-defunct video site Vine. Posting a variety of music and comedy videos, the star was the first to reach 1 billion loops on the platform.
The Venezuelan model and singer recently appeared on Logan Paul‘s Impaulsive podcast, where they reminisced about getting to know each other in the early days of Vine. Paul told Pons that given her history of doing stunts on video, she should join the world of WWE, and she revealed that the sports entertainment giant had actually reached out to her in the past and joked that if she undergoes a major scandal, she’ll simply change course to wrestling.
“They reached out to me. I’m not kidding. They reached out and were like, ‘she has to do it.’ If anything happens in my career, like there’s a scandal or something, I’m just going to go that route.”
Everyone in attendance joked that Paul himself took that very route to sports entertainment, and Pons’ husband Guaynaa claimed that she was offered $20 million from the company. However, Pons makes it clear that any potential future in sports entertainment isn’t about the money; she has to be prepared for confrontation, something she says isn’t her strength.
“They can offer me $20 million, it’s not about the money, it really isn’t. Mentally, I want to be prepared. You have to be mentally prepared. You should not give a fuck what other people are saying because it’s a lot of confrontation. I suck at confrontation.”
Pons has come under fire on social media on a number of occasions, once being accused of animal cruelty when she posted a video of herself swimming in a pool next to a crocodile with its mouth taped shut. However, the star has also been praised for her openness as she deals with Tourette syndrome as well as severe OCD.
Logan Paul Will Face Seth Rollins At WWE WrestleMania 39
After losing to Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel in November, Logan Paul took a hiatus from WWE as he dealt with a knee injury suffered in his match with Reigns. He made a surprise return to the company at the Royal Rumble in January, shockingly eliminating Seth Rollins from the bout.
The next month, Paul confronted Rollins once again, making his way into the Elimination Chamber to cost Rollins the United States Championship. With tensions heightened, the two will face off in singles action at WrestleMania 39, and on the most recent episode of Raw, Paul laid out Rollins with his signature single punch during an episode of Impaulsive TV.
