MJF has been one of the most talked about wrestlers of 2022 and will likely continue to grab headlines as we head towards the ‘bidding war of 2024’, where he intends to pit the biggest companies in professional wrestling against each other to secure his signature.
The ‘Generational Talent’ reached the apex of AEW this past Saturday after defeating Jon Moxley to capture the AEW World Championship at Full Gear.
MJF is also making waves outside of professional wrestling and is currently working on his upcoming feature film debut after being confirmed to have a role in the ‘The Iron Claw’, a biopic on the Von Erich wrestling family.
But the AEW Star has also garnered mainstream attention this week after clashing with a number of UFC fighters.
MJF Labels Paddy Pimblett A “Dollar Store Conor McGregor”
Maxwell Jacob Friedman clashed with UFC Lightweight star Paddy Pimblett on social media this week and even teased a possible confrontation at AEW’s upcoming London show in 2023.
During the social media spat, Friedman labelled Pimblett as a “dollar store Conor McGregor”, which drew the attention of the Irishman.
Responding to the jibe, McGregor tweeted:
“A dollar store Conor is still worth millions! Let’s go young Paddy Pimb! Don’t know who this other clown is.”
Unsurprisingly, Friedman did not take McGregor’s response lying down and retorted in typical MJF fashion, tweeting:
“I’ll f**k the Conor clone up. Then I’ll wipe my ass with the original. Stay in your lane you roided up leprechaun. You can’t hang with the @AEW World Champion. #Betterthanyou”
Paddy Pimblett is one of UFC’s fastest rising stars and is set to face Jared Gordon at UFC 282 on December 10th. It remains to be seen whether or not the MMA star and MJF are working an angle for AEW’s debut UK show next year, but it is certainly a story for fans to keep an eye on.
