Congratulations to former WWE on-screen personality CJ Perry (FKA Lana) for her upcoming major project.
From 2013 to 2021, Lana played a vital role in elevating Rusev’s character in WWE. Although mainly serving as the superstar’s manager, she also got involved in some matches and various alliances before being released in 2021.
Two years later, CJ Perry debuted in AEW with her husband Miro, who was already All Elite since 2020 at the time. However, her time in the Jacksonville-based promotion didn’t last long, as she only appeared for the company until the end of 2023.
Although Rusev has since returned to WWE in April this year, CJ Perry has only re-signed with the company under a Legend’s contract. Still, it looks like the former Lana is going to be busy with other areas in her professional career.
CJ Perry (FKA Lana) Set For Debut Novel For Bulletproof Angel
In line with Paradigm’s The Sports Group and Publishing divisions’ collaboration, where athletes get paired with bestselling authors, Deadline announced that CJ Perry and screenwriter Blake Northcott will kick things off with the novel Bulletproof Angel.
Bulletproof Angel is set to be a fast-paced international spy thriller following a brilliant young CIA agent who must team up with her estranged mother, who is a retired operative with a dark past. Thrust together behind enemy lines, they must stop a deadly AI-driven weapon system before it unleashes a global catastrophe.
Talking about the project, CJ Perry shared that she enjoys stories about espionage and resilience, and being able to write about two strong female characters is a plus. The former Lana also praised her writing partner, Blake Northcutt.
“I’ve always been drawn to stories of espionage, betrayal, and resilience, and building a world around two powerful female operatives was a dream,” Perry shared. “Blake is an incredible partner, and Bulletproof Angel is just the beginning.”

It was also noted that additional fiction titles are in development by other Paradigm clients and current WWE stars Sheamus and Damian Priest.
