Conflicting Reports On Future Of WWE Performance Center, Possible Relocation Outside Florida

WWE Performance Center

Major changes are coming to the WWE Performance Center, including a move across the country.

The WWE Performance Center is a state of the art facility that’s been instrumental in helping shape the future of sports entertainment since it opened in 2013. Located in Orlando, Florida, the facility boasts seven training rings, strength and conditioning equipment, and a production center that helps ready future stars for television.

According to a new report from WrestleVotes, the company’s training program could be set for huge changes as it could be moving across the country to relocate in Las Vegas, Nevada. The report reads:

According to a source there was an all employee meeting today at WWE HQ in Stamford hosted by Mark Shapiro. I’m told the biggest news to come out of the meeting is that the WWE Performance Center will be moving to Las Vegas in the near future.

With WWE having merged with UFC into TKO Group last September, many assume this move could be made as UFC has its headquarters and facilities in Las Vegas.

However, an update from Fightful Select contradicts the information from WrestleVotes. Fightful reports that one source within WWE reached out quickly to say that Mark Shapiro had not announced that the PC was set to move unless the announcement took place in another meeting, and other sources also reached out to say that no such announcement had been made.

No sources within the WWE PC had been informed of any possible move to Las Vegas, and they were reportedly very surprised when the WrestleVotes report emerged. Sources pointed to the fact that Orlando is a good location for its proximity to many talent on the main roster, and also that the cost of living for trainees is preferable in Orlando when compared to Las Vegas.

John Cena Gave Valuable Advice To WWE Performance Center Trainees

Back in January, NXT star Lexis King opened up to Chris Van Vliet about valuable advice John Cena gave to trainees at the WWE Performance Center.

“And one of the coolest things he said, you can’t control the booking, you can’t control who’s wearing what belt or this, that or the other. He’s like, but you can be the best version of said character. And if you’re the best, like he was the rapper guy, if you’re the best rapper guy on the roster. And creative goes, Oh, we want the rapper guy to take on a huge monster. Then they’re gonna pick the best rapper guy they have and put them against the best monster character they have, and then go, oh what does the match look like?

“So it’s like, people say I’ll never pitch an idea again, let’s put it that way. He said, There’s no point in pitching anything. Because if you pitch something and they don’t use it. Now, you’re disappointed. Now you’re upset. But if you just be the best version of your character. And then they decide to choose you for these things that they created because they’re the writers, they’re going to come up with the ideas. And it’s like, they don’t want you pitching them stuff. They want to come up with it, because it’s their job.”

In other news, the WWE Raw line-up has been confirmed.
