Confirmation Of Injury That Forced Eddie Kingston To Be Pulled From AEW Double Or Nothing

Eddie Kingston suffered a serious injury at NJPW resurgence.

Losing the New Japan Strong title to Gabe Kidd at the pay-per-view, Kingston’s leg hit the barricade when he went through a table on the outside and immediately was a cause for concern. Things went from bad to worse for Kingston as he was attacked by The Young Bucks and Jack Perry after the match and was reportedly seen limping backstage.

Previously announced to be a part of the Anarchy in the Arena match alongside FTR and Bryan Danielson at Double or Nothing against The Elite, confirmation that the injury was severe was provided by The Young Bucks on the May 15th Dynamite as they declared that Eddie Kingston would not be a part of the match.

As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was confirmed on May 13th that Eddie Kingston had suffered a broken leg and had to change creative for Dynamite and Double or Nothing:

It was a great angle to set up Anarchy in the Arena, but with Kingston suffering what was being talked about on Dynamite backstage as a broken leg although that was not confirmed it was the exact injury, obviously that changed things. He was limping badly after the match and they were hopeful the injury wasn’t bad enough to put him out. But on 5/13, they found out the leg was broken and had to change around Dynamite and the main event for Double or Nothing.

Eddie Kingston’s Replacement Announced

Kingston’s replacement made themselves known in the main event segment of Dynamite. As Dax Harwood was beaten down by The Elite, Danielson and Cash Wheeler made the save but were still outnumbered. In a surprise appearance that no one saw coming, Darby Allin made his return from injury and was announced as Kingston’s replacement at AEW Double or Nothing.

Unfortunately, Eddie Kingston’s injury is worse than anticipated.

Everyone at Inside The Ropes would like to wish Eddie Kingston a full and speedy recovery.
