Colt Cabana may have joined The Dark Order but according to a new report, a feud that could have ripped the faction apart was at one point on the cards.
Cabana was a somewhat unwitting recruit to Dark Order when the cult-like group absorbed him into the fold at the behest of The Exalted One Brodie Lee. Lee seemed to shield Cabana from the worst excesses and assaults perpetrated by the group. Buoyed by his own upswing in success with his affiliation with Lee and The Dark Order Cabana seemed more and more at home with his new family in AEW.
Then as we know only too well, tragedy struck in December 2020 when Brodie Lee sadly passed away. In The Celebration Of Life episode dedicated to Mr. Brodie Lee, Colt Cabana was emotional as he took to the ring to compete in tribute to Lee. On that night he teamed with The Young Bucks to defeat Matt Hardy and Private Party. Since then Colt Cabana has been a fully-fledged member of The Dark Order as their wicked ways diminished with the group now under the leadership of Brodie Lee Jr., also known as Negative One.
According to a new report by Fightful Select, Colt Cabana has revealed what the original plans for him as part of The Dark Order entailed. The report says that Cabana was eventually going to feud with Brodie Lee. It also states that this was Cabana’s idea and he pitched it after Lee had unsuccessfully challenged Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship, even going as far as to write up a manuscript to outline the feud.
Lee faced Moxley for the AEW World Championship at Double Or Nothing in May 2020 with Moxley winning after choking out Lee. Brodie Lee would only compete in eight more matches after his loss to Moxley with his final bout coming in October 2020 when he lost the TNT Championship to Cody Rhodes.
