Colt Cabana has publicly commented on criticism made by former ally CM Punk, doing so without directly referencing the two-time AEW World Champion.
Of the controversy caused by CM Punk during the post-All Out media scrum, comments made regarding Colt Cabana sharing a bank account with his mother appeared to be the strangest. ‘The Best in the World’ has had long-standing issues with his ex-Second City Saints partner, but this criticism seemed odd.
Cabana has since addressed what Punk had to say, doing so on his latest Twitch stream. The former Dark Order man didn’t directly mention CM Punk, though compared his financial status with that of his successful, Emmy-winning brother:
“That’s a fun little tidbit. My brother is the director of Family Guy. Look up his name. He also shares a bank account with my mother.”
Colt Cabana isn’t lying; his brother, Greg Colton, has indeed directed Family Guy before, doing so for numerous episodes of the animated comedy. Furthermore, he won the Outstanding Individual Achievement In Animation award during the 2010 Emmy Awards for storyboarding the ‘It’s A Wonderful Day For Pie’ episode.
Cabana and Punk were aligned for a while in The Second City Saints stable, though they’ve since had a major, well-documented falling out. An August 2018 lawsuit saw Cabana demand a total of $1,200,000, while a counterclaim saw CM Punk seeking $600,000, plus additional fees. Both lawsuits have since been dismissed.
