Colt Cabana has taken to Twitter to confirm his contract with All Elite Wrestling stipulates he is still able to work for New Japan Pro Wrestling.
My contract specifically says I can do NJPW.
It was still the plan that got stopped with the pandemic 🙁

This puts him in elite company alongside Chris Jericho & Jon Moxley as AEW talents able to compete for the ‘King of Sports’. Unfortunately the pandemic appears to have put plans for any regular appearance by these stars in Japan on hold for the time being.
Cabana had been working for NJPW in both America and Japan as recently as last February. Colt was regularly teaming with Toru Yano and other CHAOS stable members, even unsuccessfully challenging for the promotion’s NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Titles.
Colt Cabana first became involved with New Japan via the companies working relationship with Ring of Honor, appearing on a co-branded ROH/NJPW show dating back to 2016 but he made his debut proper in 2019 where he defeated Shane Taylor on a New Japan USA card.
The most recent AEW/NJPW crossover occurred earlier this month when Jon Moxley appeared via video ahead of the NJPW US Title briefcase match at Wrestle Kingdom 15.
Time will tell when we will see Cabana back in a New Japan ring.
