Colt Cabana Breaks Down AEW Role

Colt Cabana Breaks Down AEW Role

Colt Cabana recently shed light on his current role within AEW.

Although he hasn’t appeared on AEW television since November 2022, Cabana has been actively contributing behind the scenes. In a conversation with MuscleManMalcolm, Cabana discussed his responsibilities as a producer for AEW.

When introduced as a “Big AEW Superstar,” Cabana humbly responded:

I don’t know about big AEW superstar. I’m there, I get a check. Sometimes I get on the shows. I do help backstage, I do a lot of producing.

Cabana went on to mention a specific match he produced, stating:

I was the producer for Orange Cassidy and Wheeler Yuta. I was on the headsets and helping the director.

Drawing from his extensive wrestling experience, Cabana explained how his insights into the industry enabled him to anticipate angles and guide camera movements.

Because I know wrestling, the director might not know wrestling, so I’ll be on the headset and I can kind of see, ‘You might want to get this angle because this might happen.’

His involvement in producing the Orange Cassidy vs. Wheeler Yuta match on the August 16th episode of AEW Dynamite showcased his valuable contributions.

When Did Colt Cabana Last Wrestle For AEW?

While Cabana has continued to wrestle on the independent circuit and ROH, his return to AEW television remains uncertain as he hasn’t wrestled for the company since November 2022. It had been speculated that the reason for this was because CM Punk refused to share a locker room with Colt Cabana, however, Tony Khan has since denied these rumours.

Despite his absence, Cabana’s behind-the-scenes work reflects his ongoing commitment to the wrestling industry. Fans and pundits alike eagerly await his next appearance on AEW programming.
