Cody Rhodes To Make Special Announcement On AEW Dynamite

Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes has teased his legions of fans a very special announcement to be made on another special Friday night edition of AEW Dynamite.

Rhodes is advertised as having a special announcement and will be joined in the ring by veteran announcer Tony Schiavone. Recently ‘The American Nightmare’ has been embroiled in a feud with former friend QT Marshall and his Factory which includes Olympic boxing medallist Anthony Ogogo.

At Double Or Nothing Cody Rhodes – competing for one night only under his father’s moniker of ‘The American Dream’ – gave Ogogo his first defeat in AEW. Rhodes had to dip into his extra arsenal of moves as he dropped the British star with his lesser-seen Vertebreaker for the victory.

Following that match, Cody Rhodes teamed with Nightmare Family member ‘Big Shotty’ Lee Johnson in tag team action on the 4th of June edition of Dynamite. Johnson and Rhodes faced Ogogo and Marshall but came up on the losing side when Ogogo floored Rhodes with a knockout punch allowing Marshall to pick up the victory.

Also announced for the 11th of June edition of Dynamite on TNT are AEW Champion Kenny Omega and ‘The Invisible Hand’ Don Callis supposedly blowing the lid off the ‘conspiracy’ against them in All Elite Wrestling. Their associates in The Elite, The Young Bucks, and Brandon Cutler will be in six-man tag team action as they face the team of Pac, Penta El Zero M, and Eddie Kingston. Pac and Penta’s Death Triangle partner Rey Fenix is still out of action reportedly suffering from a groin injury.

Elsewhere on Dynamite Miro will defend his TNT Championship against The Dark Order’s Evil Uno. Dark Order will also be represented in a tag team match as Hangman Page teams with 10 to face Team Taz’s power duo, Brian Cage and Powerhouse Hobbs. As far as tag team action goes, Darby Allin is advertised to pick his tag team partner after Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page challenged him to face them one more time with any other partner bar ‘The Icon’ Sting.

Cody Rhodes and wife Brandi are expecting their first child, a daughter, some time in the near future. They announced the pregnancy in December 2020.
