Cody Rhodes launched himself back into WWE at WrestleMania 38 with a victory over Seth Rollins.
In the months that followed, the former AEW star continued to battle The Visionary but he always had his eye on a bigger prize. Rhodes is driven to become WWE Champion, a feat his famous father never accomplished.
However, the American Nightmare’s plans were derailed when he suffered a serious pectoral injury in the summer of 2022. But with every setback comes a great comeback. Or so the saying goes.
Rhodes returned to action at the Royal Rumble, winning the men’s Rumble match to set up his date with destiny at WrestleMania 39 against Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. In the months since his victory, Rhodes and Reigns have gone toe-to-toe on the microphone, and the talking is almost over. But it wouldn’t be Cody Rhodes if there wasn’t another twist in the road.
After the star picked up a win over Ludwig Kaiser on SmackDown, Paul Heyman said that he would now have to face Solo Sikoa on the March 27th episode of Raw. Sikoa is yet to submit or be pinned since arriving on the main roster and clashed with Rhodes on Raw on March 20th.
WWE Undecided On Winner Of Cody Rhodes Vs. Roman Reigns
Despite many believing that Rhodes will be the man to dethrone Reigns at WrestleMania, it might not be that simple. It has been reported that Reigns could be set for a break after the spectacular, however, that report comes with an interesting caveat. The Tribal Chief will only get his break if he loses the World Championship to Rhodes, something that is yet to be decided.
