Cody Rhodes, AEW star and expectant father has been discussing whether or not he would support his child entering the wrestling business.
Speaking to ‘The Buzz on Newsday,’ 2-time former TNT Champion Rhodes was asked about his child potentially joining the business.
Rhodes states:
“It’s a great industry. It’s finally thriving again. I’m so proud of being a pro wrestler. I’ll definitely be bringing he or she, whenever I’m told or whenever Brandi lets me know. I’ll bring them around it. The sky’s the limit for a baby Rhodes, that’s for sure.”
“My dad was really good, he just brought me around it. If I liked it, I liked it, and if I didn’t, he wouldn’t bring me around it [the wrestling business]. I think we’ll apply the same thing.”
Cody Rhodes would then talk more about his father, the legendary Dusty Rhodes, and how Dusty didn’t ‘smarten’ Cody up to the ways of the wrestling world. Asked if Cody would do the same or try a different tact, Cody replied:
“[I’d] probably try to smarten that kid up, or maybe I won’t just to see if I can have the same amount of fun he [Dusty] did.”
Cody and Brandi revealed they were expecting a baby on AEW Dynamite. Brandi’s pregnancy led to her not being a part of the upcoming mixed tag team match between Jade Cargill and Shaq facing Cody and, Brandi’s replacement, Red Velvet.
As Dusty Rhodes’ second son, after fellow AEW star, Dustin, Cody Rhodes made an early wrestling appearance in WCW. Standing on stage while his father accepted his induction into the WCW Hall of Fame.
