Cody Rhodes’ sister has called out AEW.
Almost six years ago, in 2019, Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Tony Khan founded All Elite Wrestling, aka AEW, as a major mainstream competition for WWE. However, a year before that, in 2018, its original seeds were sown.
The 2018 All In event marked the start of the promotion. Held on 1st September, 2018 at the Sears Centre Arena, it featured several top Indie stars, a few former as well as current WWE stars, and other popular wrestlers who went on to become some of the current top names in the Jacksonville-based promotion. The event also featured Rhodes in a bout against current SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.
Now ahead of the fourth All In event on 12th July, 2025, Cody Rhodes’ sister Teil Margaret has opened up and thrown shade at the promotion for not giving her royalties for coming up with the name, ‘All In’.
Responding to a fan on X(Twitter), Teil said,
“Very Rhodes of me to conceptualize a generational wrestling event and get no royalties.”
Soon, responding to her comment, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray, aka Bubba Ray Dudley, also chimed in and claimed that he never received credit for booking the original 2018 All In Battle Royal match. Replying to her comments on X(Twitter), he said,
“I feel ya sistah…. I booked the entire Battle Royal, from beginning to end…and got no credit.”
The second match of the 2018 card featured the 19-person Over Budget Battle Royale, which was won by El Hijo De Chico by last eliminating Bully Ray.
Now, in less than a week, Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling is set to host arguably the promotion’s biggest event at the Globe Field Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Top AEW Star Believes Cody Rhodes And CM Punk’s Value Increased After Their Time There
Earlier this year, during his appearance on the Bootleg Kev podcast, Swerve Strickland detailed how All Elite Wrestling significantly enhanced the values of CM Punk and Cody Rhodes.
“Sasha Banks had value, Mercedes has more value now because of All Elite Wrestling. Cody had more value because of what AEW was able to do, same with Punk, same with Moxley coming to AEW. Ricky Starks to Saints. Mercedes was the one that did big for the women… now it makes Becky Lynch look like a little hmm maybe. It makes New Day go, hmm maybe. Charlotte Flair, I wonder, maybe.”
