Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins Advertised For August 22nd Raw

Cody Rhodes Diving On Seth Rollins

Despite local advertisements from the venue, don’t expect to see Cody Rhodes back in in-ring action any time soon.

‘The American Nightmare’ has been out of action since the start of June after tearing his pectoral tendon. He wants to return before his medically scheduled comeback – but he’s definitely not coming back this month.

The 22 August episode of Monday Night Raw is due to be held at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena. The venue has advertised the event on Twitter, doing so while hyping a singles encounter between Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins and Cody Rhodes.

Cody Rhodes was reported as having picked up an injury prior to his Hell in a Cell match at the titular pay-per-view. The injury is immensely severe, evident through Rhodes’ working condition in the match as he sported a bruised shoulder and chest.

Upon being written off programming, Cody Rhodes was said by WWE to be out of commission for “nine months“. That, in theory, would keep Rhodes off WWE television until March at the earliest. Whether or not he returns beforehand all depends on Cody’s recovery process.

Already confirmed for the 22 August Monday Night Raw is a first-time ever singles encounter between Damian Priest and his former Judgement Day brethren, Edge.
