Cody Rhodes Reveals His Current Relationship With The Rock

Cody Rhodes Shares Hilarious Way

Is there still bad blood brewing between Cody Rhodes and The Rock?

Earlier this year, before WrestleMania 40, fans saw The Brahma Bull return and engage in a feud with Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. However, soon things changed as Reigns and Rock aligned themselves to take on Rhodes.

However, despite the powers stacked against him, The American Nightmare overcame all the odds to win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40. However, it was later reportedly revealed that Rhodes went into business for himself after his 2024 Royal Rumble victory, despite WWE having plans for The Rock versus Roman Reigns.

In an interview with ‘The Flagrant,’ the current champion recently shared details about his relationship with ‘The Final Boss’ over beef rumors.

When a situation like that (The Rock returning) happens it’s very real. Hey, the fans have made a choice and it’s very real. I think there is just a lingering tension, perhaps? I universally love him. I grew up a Rock fan. We have yet to debrief on WrestleMania and what happened. Because I bet you his story is a little bit different. I think maybe some bad advice came and he didn’t get good knowledge on ‘ok, here’s the layout, here’s who’s sitting at that table. But, I’d love that if could ever have this little debrief.”

After his Rumble win, Rhodes had handed out his title opportunity to The Rock on an episode of SmackDown. However, things had to be swiftly changed at the WrestleMania 40 kickoff after a huge backlash from the fans.

Cody Rhodes Denies Rumored Reason For Leaving AEW

In the same ‘The Flagrant,’ podcast, Cody Rhodes opened up on his AEW departure in 2022. The American Nightmare denied a popular rumor behind his departure, yet refrained from sharing the real reason.

There are so many factors that went into it. When I start talking about this, people try to cite, ‘Oh, it was this. It was this.’ Here’s what I can tell you it wasn’t. It wasn’t anything to do with Tony (Khan) and Brandi. That’s a big one you hear all the time that ‘Tony didn’t sign Brandi.’ No, Brandi had been re-signed. Rhodes To The Top, we had a nice show on TBS, that had been renewed for a second season. Go Big Show.

“It was just a situation that felt icky. This is how I look at it in the end, I had really great memories with all of them, all the way back to All In. I had a really beautiful experience for a while, and I wanted to keep the memories good. I wanted to be able, in ten years, if I see those guys, I wanted to keep them good. I also wanted them to know, this is the Louisiana Purchase of wrestling, I will make sure, but I had great memories with them, and I wanted them to know.”
