Cody Rhodes Reportedly Positioned As Number 2 Babyface On Raw

Cody Rhodes & The Miz

A new report has claimed that Cody Rhodes has been internally positioned as the number two babyface on Monday Night Raw.

According to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Cody Rhodes is the number two babyface on Raw behind only Bobby Lashley.

The report adds that the top heels on the red brand are thought to be Seth Rollins, Edge, Damian Priest and Kevin Owens.

Interestingly, Roman Reigns is listed as number one heel on SmackDown, and isn’t listed even internally, as part of the Raw roster. This is despite Reigns being the Undisputed Universal Champion, and thus WWE’s only World Title holder.

Drew McIntyre is currently positioned as the number one babyface opposite the Tribal Chief.

After Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins tore the house down at WrestleMania 38, the pair have agreed to run in back in Providence, Rhode Island on May 8th at WrestleMania Backlash.

At WrestleMania 38, Cody Rhodes appeared as Seth Rollins mystery opponent. Rollins had spent weeks in the run up to the event attempting to get a match on the card to no avail. However, he eventually secured a meeting with Vince McMahon and was granted a match against an opponent of McMahon’s choosing.

Come show night, the lights dimmed and Rollins’ opponent was revealed to be Cody Rhodes, who returned to WWE after six years away. The two men threw everything at each other before Rhodes eventually grabbed the win.

The next night on Monday Night Raw, Rhodes explained that he was aiming to win the WWE Championship, before being joined in the ring by Rollins. Although fans may have expected fireworks, the two simply shook hands and left the ring.

On April 11th, Rhodes appeared on Miz TV where he discussed his rivalry with Rollins, before defeating Miz in a match. After scoring the win, Rollins entered the ring and asked “Mr Nightmare” whether he would face him in a rematch. The former AEW star quickly agreed to the match, and it was later made official.

The win against Miz means that Rhodes remained undefeated since returning to WWE.
