Cody Rhodes Plans Huge AEW UK Tour

Former AEW TNT Champion, Cody Rhodes, has revealed that he plans to stage a huge tour of All Elite Wrestling in the United Kingdom.

AEW’s partnership with the United Kingdom has been contentious since the brand announced its origins back in 2019. First they were due to air their weekly Dynamite show on ITV 4 as well as pay-per-view events on the ITV Box Office.

Those plans soon went awry after the channel dropped the major shows and decided to just air Dynamite days after it’s U.S release.

However, AEW has been kind to its British fans since its inception and even planned to stage the 2020 edition of Fyter Fest in London before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the world, as confirmed by Tony Khan in May of 2020.

Now Cody Rhodes has sat down on Talk is Jericho to discuss the fan base across the pond and make a startling announcement of plans that were halted due to the worldwide pandemic:

“Our international presence; locking down a deal in India and Australia. Preparing for our first tour in the UK. To me, the UK have been committed to WWE for so many years based on one SummerSlam. ‘They came here that one time.’ WWE was all over the UK and did a great job, but I don’t think they get near enough service for how good and loyal of wrestling fans they are. I want to prepare that big tour.”

British wrestling fans will be salivating at the news that the company plan to stage something huge on British shores in the not too distant future, despite already having their own promotion/brand in NXT UK.

Cody is currently aligned with Darby Allin and to a lesser extent, Sting, in a battle against Team Taz. He and wife Brandi are also expecting their first child together.
